Insano Mode

This is the "no bypass" setup: turn your Mac into a typewriter where you can only work inside a small slice of the internet you intentionally allow.

Extreme risk level

This means you cannot change any settings during the block (installing apps, changing system settings, browser switching, editing DNS/Network settings). Treat it as a deliberate "locked room" mode.

1. System Settings → Privacy & Security → Advanced… Require an administrator password to access system-wide settings = ON

2. Allow applications from = App Store Blocks running downloaded apps

3. Use a Standard (non-admin) user account during the block

4. Keep the admin password inaccessible during the block This is the "you don't know the keys" principle

5. Lock Screen Time Settings with a random PIN you won't remember

6. App Limits → Add the apps you want to block

7. Set the limit to 0h 0m

8. Turn on Block at End of Limit Forces a single "one more minute" request, then the app becomes locked

9. Keep only "allowed" apps outside App Limits

10. Content & Privacy → Store Restrictions: Apps = Don't Allow Blocks impulse-installing bypass tools

11. Configure allowed apps/websites for your scenario

12. Keep Safari only Sign out of / uninstall Chrome, Arc, Firefox, etc.

13. Turn FileVault ON for data-at-rest protection If OFF, anyone with physical access can potentially read your disk
